We had lost both of our much-loved old rescue dogs and were not looking for another dog. However, the SWB photos of Joyce (age 12) then appeared in my Facebook feed. We quickly made contact with SWB and were so impressed with their thoughtfulness, thoroughess, and kindness. We cannot thank Snezana, Gill, the drivers, and the team enough.

We are beyond glad we adopted Joyce. She brings so much into our lives on a daily basis. We love her humour, her soothing spirit, her joy for life, and her two settings (asleep or ‘lets go!’). Joyce has quickly gotten used to being in a house, despite having been a street dog for 8 years and then being in the shelter for 4 years. Joyce has had no issues with toilet training, indoor house noises, or meeting other dogs. Had Joyce not settled into retirement, I feel sure she could have been on some sort of welcoming committee; she is always enthusiastic and charming when meeting people and other animals. Everyone loves Joyce; she has a teddy bear-like softness with a personality and smile to match.

We love that she is of retirement age; she enjoys walks and being out and about, but is also content sleeping. 

We would encourage anyone to adopt or foster an older dog – they have so much love and life to give.
