“We decided we wanted to rescue a dog a long time ago, it just didn’t feel right buying a puppy when there are so many dogs in rescues across the world. We took our time, researching a number of different rescue groups on the internet/Facebook, but Strays without Borders stuck out to me. After checking the website, researching and understanding the lack of adoption culture over there, and reading success stories (like this one!) I was sold.

The team at Strays without Borders have been nothing short of exceptional. Throughout the dog matching process, home checks, arranging travel/pick-up/after care I cant speak highly enough of this team of people. Not only are they extremely knowledgable and supportive, but the clear love and care they have for these dogs is unmatched.

Whilst we’ve had dogs throughout our lives in our respective family homes, neither of us had ever experienced a foreign rescue. We were nervous but excited!! We had a slightly rocky start with Harry displaying guarding behaviours, and I have to give Sandra a special mention for responding to my meltdowns straight away and at any time of day, offering help and guidance. The journey of adopting a rescue is certainly challenging but after a couple of months, plenty of time and patience, and the ongoing support from the team/other adopters via WhatsApp, we have the most beautiful, happy, social boy in the world and I can never thank the team at Strays without Borders enough for giving us our best friend for life.”
