Spike was a boy who understood that he was not dealt the best hand in life, being abandoned and all, but he decided to make the best of what he got.

He is a dog with street savoir-faire. He managed to establish a pretty convenient life on the streets, finding a butcher’s shop for daily meals and, during the evenings, a local lounge bar where he would sleep over. He felt pretty happy with his arrangements. He had people around the neighbourhood who loved him, and he loved them back. But the restaurant’s image was suffering from being “too dog-friendly”, so they called the public shelter to remove him from their premises.

And just like that, all the hard work Spike had been doing over the years was gone in a second.

He is now spending his days waiting for a more convenient gig than a crowded shelter — possibly a forever home.

Spike is quite a friendly chap. He likes to sleep, occasionally bark, and he respects other dogs. He has some favourite girls at the shelter and even a doggy wife — Zone.

He would do best in a relaxed household, perhaps with a retired family somewhere rural, with good food. If he could bring his wife with him, that would make him happiest, as she is truly great company.

He is okay with kids and other dogs, and even tolerant of cats.
