Red was reported as a big dangerous dog on the streets, which only meant one thing for him – euthanasia. His size was almost certainly his death sentence, to the eyes that have no compassion or understanding, because the moment you lay eyes on him, you see that behind this big bear, is a soft and gentle love bug who only craves affection and attention. Red was lucky enough that rescuers took him into their care, but his life was subjected to a kennel for very long 6 years. He spent his youth and the better half of his life behind bars simply cause there was nowhere else for him to go, certainly not because he did something wrong.

Finding homes for big dogs is one of the most difficult tasks – not a lot of people can manage them, yet they are born and they deserve to have a good life just as anyone else. Red absolutely loves toys – he truly lives for them. He’ll carry them around, hide them, and invite you to play. He especially enjoys tug-of-war with a rope or his favorite toy. Whoever adopts him should be ready to keep buying new toys

Even though he’s a large dog, he acts like a puppy at heart. He loves to jump, bounce, and have fun with people.

He is good with other dogs, but prefers females and dogs of similar large size. He doesn’t do well with small dogs, although he behaves calmly around all dogs during walks.

He walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and more. He’s very intelligent and already an adult (8–9 years old), but he still has the playful spirit of a young dog.

He would be perfect for a family with older children who understand how to interact with an energetic dog that loves to jump and play. He is not recommended for families with very young children, as his play style includes jumping and lots of excitement.

Red is neutered.
