Looking for a Calm, Experienced Home
Freya is a bright, quirky 3-year-old Kokoni mix (sheepdog/terrier type) with a personality you won’t forget. She was rescued as a puppy from the streets of Macedonia and has lived with us since she was 11 months old. Sadly, due to illness in our family, we’ve had to make the very difficult decision to find her a new, stable home where she can thrive.
Freya is a special girl who has come a long way. When we first adopted her, she struggled with fear and had shown aggression in certain situations. Thanks to daily training and the support of behaviourists, she has progressed tremendously. She still has moments of anxiety, especially in unpredictable or high-stress environments, so she would do best in a calm, consistent home where she can feel safe and secure.
She is full of character and charm – from her funny “circus paws” she does when she wants something, to her bold, loyal nature. She is fiercely attached to the people she trusts and loves to be close to them. Freya enjoys playing and running, though she’s fast and strong for short bursts (think collie!). She does resource-guard her food and treasures, and her herding instincts mean she likes to keep her family together – so little ones or chaotic environments aren’t ideal for her.
Freya can be reactive to other dogs on walks, so introductions should be managed carefully, and we recommend she doesn’t live with cats. She’s used to human company and can be left for short periods, but she thrives with consistent attention and companionship.
Health-wise, Freya has no hip sockets, but her muscles and tissues have compensated beautifully, and she moves and plays with confidence. She has a small patch on her head where her fur doesn’t grow, but it doesn’t bother her, and her amazing white “Teflon-like” coat stays bright and clean naturally.
Freya isn’t a dog for everyone – she needs an experienced, patient, and loving person who can give her the calm and consistency she deserves. In return, she will offer loyalty, affection, and her endlessly unique personality.
